RESIDENT SCHOLARSHIP
The Wisconsin Society of Pathologists has set up a Scholarship Fund to assist physicians who are residents-in-training in pathology programs at the University of Wisconsin in Madison and the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, to attend the Annual Meeting of the College of American Pathologists as Delegate and Alternate Delegate from the state of Wisconsin.
The following rules will apply:
1. The resident-in-training must be a member actively involved in the WSP who has paid their dues.
2. The maximum amount of the scholarship for any year will be a total of $1500 for two physicians to attend this meeting. The two should be from the same residency program, if possible.
3. An individual letter will be sent to each resident physician member at each of the two medical schools, inviting them to apply for this scholarship.
3. The application must include a letter indicating why they want to attend the CAP Annual Meeting, and a current curriculum vitae.
4. A letter from the Chairman of the Department and/or another active physician in their department, supporting the resident, must be included.
4. The residents who are chosen to attend the CAP meeting will be required to
(a) attend the WSP Annual Meeting in the Fall of the year and present a 10 minute report on the CAP meeting to the WSP members present.
(b) present a written report for the WSP Webpage.
The deadline for the application for the scholarship will be APRIL 1 of that year.
A committee comprised of the President, President Elect, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer will accept the applications and determine the recipient of that year's award.
The awardees will be notified by letter no later than May 1 of that year.

CYTOLOGY SCHOLARSHIP FUND
The Wisconsin Society of Pathologists has set up a
scholarship fund to help defray costs for Wisconsin Cytologists who want to attend state or national conferences.
The scholarship will help educate the future cytotechnologists in learning new ideas to advance the field of cytopathology.
The following requirements will apply:
(1) A letter from the cytologist requesting consideration for the scholarship must be sent to the Wisconsin Society of Pathologists Board of Directors.
(2) A letter of recommendation from the physician(s)working with the cytologist must accompany it, indicating their support for the candidate.
(3) A committee will study the applications and determine the recipient(s) for the funds.
(4) The funds will not exceed $1,000 for any given year.
(5) The deadline for applications is September 1.
